The&nbsp;complainants clarified that they wanted to either receive monetary compensation or&nbsp;an&nbsp;explanation for the delay that occurred in relation to their file.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>NSIRA informed the complainants that it does not have the authority to make remedial orders&nbsp;such as requiring CSIS to make monetary compensation to a complainant. However, NSIRA&nbsp;inquired whether CSIS was interested in&nbsp;participating&nbsp;in an informal resolution process to&nbsp;resolve some of&nbsp;or all the&nbsp;issues in the complaint. In the context of NSIRA\u2019s informal resolution&nbsp;process, information was provided to the complainants regarding CSIS\u2019s involvement in their&nbsp;permanent resident and temporary resident visa applications. NSIRA attempted to&nbsp;communicate with the complainants on several occasions to&nbsp;determine&nbsp;whether they had any&nbsp;questions that would&nbsp;assist&nbsp;in clarifying the circumstances of their complaint.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NSIRA&nbsp;determined&nbsp;that reasonable attempts had been made to communicate with the&nbsp;complainants and issued reasons&nbsp;deeming&nbsp;the complaint abandoned as per NSIRA\u2019s Rules of&nbsp;Procedure.
